Review: Plexus Reset

To my knowledge, this product is Plexus’ first venture into a cleanse-type program. The reason that’s important to highlight is that when something is new, there are kinks to work out in terms of the product itself and the way it is discussed. With that said…

This is not a fast. You can find many different definitions for fasting, but perhaps the most widely accepted understanding is – a period of time where you do not eat or drink, with the exception of water. On the other hand, a cleanse is a process by which you intentionally restrict your intake to only include nutritional items that help your body thrive. With that said, the Plexus Reset product is a three-day cleanse.

Here is how it stacked up to my criteria of: easy to follow, fast results, intentional, inexpensive.

Easy. Everything you need to complete the program is included and packaged super well. Inside the Plexus Reset box, you will find three smaller boxes, one for each day, which contains everything you need. The outside of the box even details a checklist of when each item should be consumed for easy tracking. The only “tools” you will need are a cup and spoon. No blender or additional ingredients needed (although the protein shake does taste much better with milk and the soup could use some salt). With that said, no cleanse program is SUPER easy – you should expect to fight cravings, encounter naysayers, and feel the urge to “cheat”. But the worst promises to break are those you make to yourself, so stick to it!

Fast Results. The noticeable results I can point to are…pride, mental clarity, and restfulness. It feels good to complete something challenging so I was proud of myself for finishing the three-day program, as it was intended. Next, it was nice to free up space in my mind that is typically occupied by meal-planning. That extra mental capacity partnered with a great sleep cycle, allowed me to focus on a few hobbies and time with my family. Lastly, I slept SO well. At the end of the day, I was tired earlier and fell asleep much faster than normal. When I woke up, I felt much more ready for the day. If there was one benefit of this program that I could take with me, it would be the restfulness.

These next two criteria are where the program started to fall a bit short, in my opinion.

Intentional. There are so many facets to this program that it is difficult to attribute any one product to the benefits. In a way, this is to be expected – it is a program and the benefits are a result of the holistic set of actions. On the other hand, I would like to have had a takeaway that I could incorporate into my day-to-day life. For example, was it the Restore product at the end of the day that helped me fall asleep faster and stay asleep? Or was it that I hadn’t loaded up my body with a heavy dinner two hours before bedtime? Completing the program required seven products per day, which is not sustainable long-term, but I would have loved to learn if there were one or two of those products that I could incorporate more often than just when completing the cleanse.

Inexpensive. I have calculated that my average sustenance intake costs about $35/day1. With that in mind, the $50/day cost2 of the Plexus Reset is manageable but it’s not exactly inexpensive.  Aside from a true fast, I would not expect a quality program to be cheap, but my hope with these programs is that there is a minimal negative impact (if any impact) on my budget.

Overall, I would rate this program a 3.75/5 stars…which is pretty great, because I am not planning to give away 5-star ratings like they are participation trophies.

The Plexus Reset would be most beneficial for someone who is looking to lose a few pounds quickly and safely. Over three days, I lost 6 pounds which wasn’t my primary goal but if it is yours, this may be better than some other I-need-to-fit-in-my-wedding-dress-in-three-days type options. This cleanse could also be great for anyone who is new to the world of cleanse/fast/detox programs, because there is no thinking or planning involved at all (other than cancelling a dinner date or rescheduling a happy hour).

If you choose to try out this cleanse, I would love to hear about your experience! I’ll include the schedule I followed for this cleanse as well as a few tips below!

Next up: Pressed Juicery (September 2022)
